We can all relate to wondering when the best time is to post something on Facebook. Posting on Facebook at the right time is a common question, but the answer is not as straightforward as it seems.

Posting on Facebook at the right time

Your audience and the type of content you publish determine when the best time to post on Facebook is for you.

Post when your audience is most likely to be online in order to take advantage of the Facebook algorithm's "recency" bias.

Study findings revealed that people are more likely to check their Facebook apps while commuting to work, during lunch breaks at work, when they're losing focus at work due to afternoon slumps, and when they're winding down for the day after dinner. Therefore, you should consider posting during these times.

As we approach the weekend and people start winding down from the week, posts shared on Thursdays and Fridays tend to get more engagement.

Using our research, we've found the best days and times to post to Facebook:

  • Time(s): 9am, 11am-3pm, and 8pm.

  •  Day(s): Thursday and Friday.

When you post during these times and days, your posts are more likely to be seen and viewed.
